IGUANA LODGE
OSA PENINSULA

Reservations

Please read the following before confirming your reservation:

The Osa Peninsula is one of the world’s most beautiful locations.  Iguana Lodge is an eco-resort, and we do not offer air conditioning.  All our rooms are screened with fans, and often breezes blow from the Pacific and Golfo Dulce.  We receive more than 300 inches of rainfall a year – humidity is often very high.  Many of rooms have no locks or keys (there are small safes in each room), the paths are lit by candles at night, occasional tree frogs or other creatures may find their way into your room.  Often at 4 AM one is awakened by howler monkeys or macaws screeching overhead, and the surf is always within earshot.

We are not the Marriott (and hope we never are).  If you are looking for a wild adventure in one of the largest pristine rainforests in North America, where roads are often horrid and occasional problems occur, this is a great spot for you to come.  If you are looking for a Cancun-Condo experience, this is not it.  We certainly hope you come visit, but only if you are going to have a great time.  Life is too short!  We love it here, but it is not for everyone.

Iguana Lodge is a non-smoking hotel –smoking is only allowed in the designated smoking areas.

Flights:
Flights have a 30lb weight limit, and you don’t really need too much here in the way of clothing, so keep it simple, and pack light.   You will be charged for extra weight.  If the flight is full. you may be asked to leave some/all luggage behind. Most hotels in San Jose have a place to guard your extra luggage. Iguana Lodge is not responsible if the airline is delayed or cancels due to weather.

Things to Bring
We recommend light weight clothing, sandals that can get wet, hiking boots and/or good walking shoes, sunscreen, a flashlight and a hat. Dinner attire is casual. There are generally very few biting bugs, however if you are a person who is bothered by insects you should bring  repellent.  If you are traveling in our green months (April – November), you may want to bring a light rain jacket or pancho.

Traveler’s Insurance
If you are traveling with valuable camera equipment, computers, jewelry etc. we recommend that you consider purchasing traveler's insurance. It should insure against trip cancellations, theft or loss.
