Our Staff

Iguana Lodge has almost thirty employees.  Many of our workers have been with us for over nine such as Jose (our world famous chef), Helen our bartender (great dancer), Luis at the Pearl (fisherman extraordinaire).   Meanwhile, we have continued to meet and hire other Ticos.  We only hire Ticos (except for our wonderful reservation manager, Maxine, who is almost a Tica as she has lived here over twelve years).  We are one of the few hotels in our area that employs this policy.

Our workers generally live in Puerto Jimenez and ride their bikes to work which takes about twenty minutes each way, although some have now purchased motorcycles or cars.  Almost everyone has a family with one or two children, and often live in extended family settings.  All of them are great dancers, love a party, and are our great friends.  Pura Vida.
