On our far left, Earl from the Osa Wildlife Santuary is pictured. He is an extremely knowledgeable man, who along with Carol, have made their life work taking care of the animals of southern Costa Rica.
In the center and far right upper photographs, you see Andy and his family, Terry and Talon. Andy is originally from California and is a biologist. He offers a variety of hiking and high adventures tours, and is one of the key personalities (and flavorful characters) that so enrich our lives. He and his wife, Terri (who can be seen to the left with the snake wrapped around her neck), live in Matapalo. Terri and her friend Elizabeth recently opened the first private school on the Osa, Nueva Hoja, located presently next to the Puerto Jimenez Library.
Juan Carlos is pictured on the bottom left photo. Juan Carlos is our neighbor and friend. He has a vast knowledge of the Osa, having been raised here. He and his family are a vital piece of the Osa (not to mention great dancers and volleyball players). Juan Carlos is extremely personable and offers great hiking and birding tours, as well as waterfall rappelling adventures.
Joel is pictured in photograph #5, center bottom. Joel is a captain of Greenpeace's Rainbow Warrior and offers a variety of waterfall rappelling and tree climbing adventures. He has become an expert on Osa's trees, which presently number over seven hundred.
Mike is on the bottom right. Mike is a lively Irish biologist who has lived here for many years, and is typically found hiking somewhere in Corcovado. He is active in a variety of studies designed to preserve the wildlife of the Osa, and offers a variety of tours, specializing in several day outings in Corcovado, as well as a full day adventures near Carate to meet hardy gold miners.
